Double Velveteen

I’ve got some exciting news about the Double Velveteen gene! Unlike Doublerex, which can sometimes lead to patchy or bald spots, Double Velveteen is where the magic happens! These cuties will have a plush, full coat even in adulthood, and let me tell you, it’s incredibly soft. Now, don’t be surprised if, at around 5 weeks old, they go through a little moult that makes them look a bit thin-haired with loose curls, but fear not – it’s just a phase, and a brand-new coat will emerge like a phoenix rising from the ashes! Their adult coat will stay luscious and velvety soft, giving you a rat that’s not just adorable but oh-so-cuddly. Stay tuned for more genetic wonders as we dive deeper into the world of rat breeding!
