Fawn

In the captivating world of rat genetics, the “Fawn” coloration is a treasure to behold, stemming from the red eye dilute on agouti (aarr). These enchanting rats exhibit a lush, golden fawn hue generously speckled with silver guard hairs, creating a rich and harmonious blend. Their undercolor is a pale, soothing blue-grey, extending all the way to the skin, while their belly fur exudes a creamy silver charm. On their backs, the top color is evenly distributed, reaching down the sides with a clear and distinctive separation from the belly color. It’s a sight to behold, reminiscent of golden sunsets. Our journey with Fawn began when it unexpectedly emerged in our mink cinnamon line, and we’re excited to explore the potential of this captivating hue in our expanding Harley line. While our roots were once firmly planted in the agouti rexes, which often gifted us with the lovely Fawn rats, we’ve made the decision to discontinue this line, rooted in rex rats, prioritizing other qualities and ear types in our breeding program.
